Notes R5 Full Text Indexing Does Not Check for Break/Quit in a Timely Manner

Problem:
This behavior was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and has been addressed
in Notes/Domino 5.0.1.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Release 5.0.1 QMR fix list:

Fix a problem which previously caused the server (or client) to be
non-responsive when full-text indexing was occurring. [5.0.1]
